The IMA is proud to offer this three-hour hands-on workshop for independent health and wellness practices, which will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at All That Matters Yoga and Holistic Health Center on 315 Main Street in Wakefield, RI (35 minutes from Providence, RI and Mystic, CT).  Workshop leader Jennifer Lewy will show you a simple, powerful approach to attracting all the clients you can handle. Based on service to clients, and not selling, this approach will focus and energize your marketing so you can build the business you want with clarity and intention –and without spending a fortune. Whether you have an established practice or have just opened your doors, in this workshop you will identify and address your major “marketing blocks,” discover 3 principles of service-based marketing, use simple tools to develop a cost-effective (and do-able!) marketing plan, and much more.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (“NCCAM”) Welcomes Input to its 2005 Strategic Planning Process

In 1999, the U.S. Congress established NCCAM as one of the institutes and centers at the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”). At that time, NCCAM created its first 5-year strategic plan, outlining its vision and goals.

As NCCAM celebrates its fifth anniversary during 2004, they have started a strategic planning process for 2005-2009 and invite their stakeholders--members of the public, health care professionals, researchers, and others who have an interest in research in complementary and alternative medicine (“CAM”) to participate in this process. They welcome ideas for NCCAM's future investments in research, integration, training, and outreach and plan to release a final strategic plan in January 2005.

New Study Shows Iron Supplements Help Only Certain Women

About 10 to 12 percent of U.S. women and 40 to 80 percent of women in developing countries are iron deficient but not anemic, yet most are unaware of their condition. The new study provides mounting evidence that mild to moderate iron depletion should be of greater concern.
