WEEK 1 Workshop In Contemplative Dance/Authentic Movement

This weeklong workshop will be an immersion into this practice of bodily imagination and contemplation.  It will provide time to explore multiple dimensions of embodiment -- in movement and stillness, in rest and reflection, individually and in community.  It will include warm-ups, movement sessions, time in nature, creative expression and play.  Daphne Lowell, (MFA) Professor of Dance and Movement Studies at Hampshire College, and Alton Wasson, (MDiv, STM) consultant, counselor and teacher, co-direct programs in Contemplative Dance, which they have been teaching together with co-founder Mary Ramsay since 1989.  Their annual summer workshops at Hampshire College are one of the oldest on-going programs in Authentic Movement.
