The IMA's Online Community Calendar is an advertising service for New England and national health and wellness-related events. We can accept postings of up to 130 words in length. Online Community Calendar Posting Policy and Rates: IMA Business and Non-Profit Partners can post all their events for FREE. There is also NO CHARGE for anyone posting events that are free and open to the public. If your event is not free and you are not an IMA Partner, we charge $25 per posting and will invoice you. The Integrative Medicine Alliance is proud to cosponsor Boston Herbal Tours:  Botánicas, an initiative the Boston Healing Landscape Project at Boston Medical Center. This unique educational tour will run on Saturday, October 23rd, 2004 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Traditional healing practices originating in Cuba, Haiti, and other parts of the Caribbean flourish in Boston, where local botánicas sell herbs, roots, and other remedies. This tour will take you through a morning of lectures on such herbal medicines by faculty from MGH and the Mass. College of Pharmacy, and on cross-cultural medicine practices by faculty from the BU School of Medicine, followed by an afternoon tour of Boston’s Cuban and Haitian botánicas, with a talk by Cuban santero Steve Quintana, and Vodou priest Erol Josué.


Cost of the tour is $170 including lunch ($145 for IMA members and full-time students!).

Ruthy  Alon, the Originator and Senior Trainer in the Feldenkrais Method® is the international Director of the BFL Teacher Certification Program. The Bones for LifeTM program teaches movement "processes" that help individuals relearn how to stimulate bone health more efficiently, safely, and harmoniously. Participants will learn easy, gentle bone strengthening and aligning movement processes that can be done anywhere and can improve posture, balance, breathing, coordination, and vitality. BFL is proving to be of great value to men's and women's health no matter what their age or condition.
